Terms of Use
What the app is
Vox Campanae is a devotional companion. The bells, the Angelus, the night prayer, and the gallery are all tools for prayer. The app does not replace the sacraments, parish life, or a confessor. Use it as you would a missal: gratefully, but lightly.
Free to hear
Every bell that rings, every church history, every saint, and both the Angelus and Compline in full are free. You may listen to any recording in the gallery, read every page, and pray both hours without ever subscribing.
What a subscription adds
A subscription lets you set any ringing bell in the gallery as your own Angelus, Vespers, or alarm; opens the prayer Tracker, which keeps your record of the hours you have prayed; and unlocks Your Parish, where you may record the bells of your own church and offer them to the shared library to come. A free introductory period is offered as shown in the App Store.
Subscriptions and payment
Pricing, the free trial, and renewal terms are shown in the App Store and managed by Apple under their own subscription terms. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least twenty-four hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel any time in your App Store account settings. Access continues to the end of the paid period. There are no refunds for partial periods, but we will not fight you on a reasonable request — write to us.
What the texts are
The liturgical and prayer texts are drawn from public-domain editions: the Marquess of Bute's Roman Breviary in English (1908), the Douay-Rheims-Challoner Bible (1899), Edward Caswall's hymn translations (1849), John Mason Neale's hymn translations (1852), and the Clementine Vulgate (1592).
What the images and sounds are
Church photography and the recordings of bells are sourced from Wikimedia Commons, Freesound, radio aporee, the Internet Archive, and openly licensed recordings shared by their makers. Each asset is offered here under the same license it was received under — public domain or the relevant Creative Commons license — with attribution preserved on each church's detail page. Several saint portraits are original art by Sanctified Souls™, used with permission and not transferred; the rest are public-domain or Creative-Commons works redistributed under their original licenses.
The limits of our liability
The app is provided as-is. We have worked hard to keep the prayer texts faithful to their cited public-domain sources; if you find a typo or a misattribution, tell us and we will correct it. We do not promise the app will work in every situation. If your phone dies during the Angelus, the prayer is no less prayed.
Changes
These terms may be updated. The date below tells you when. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the current terms.

Privacy Policy
Vox Campanae was built by the small studio behind Sanctified Souls. We made it the way we would want our own families to use it: it collects nothing, sends nothing, watches nothing.
What we collect
Nothing. The app stores your prayer choices, the bells you have selected, the hours you have set, and your prayer log entirely on your device. None of it leaves your phone. No analytics. No advertising identifiers. No telemetry. No accounts.
What we share
Nothing. We have no servers receiving anything from you. There is no backend. There is nothing to share.
What Apple sees
When you subscribe, your payment is handled by Apple under their own privacy terms. We see only the anonymized fact that a subscription is active. Apple may send you receipts. That is between you and Apple.
The microphone
If you choose to record the bells of your own church, the app asks leave to use your microphone. Those recordings stay on your device unless you decide to send one to us by email. We never listen in, and nothing is recorded without your tapping record.
What you send us
If you write to us — through Contact us, Report an error, or to gift a bell recording — your name (if you give it) and your message arrive at our inbox. We use them to answer you, to correct the app, and to credit a recording you have gifted. For nothing else. We do not add you to a list. We do not pass them along.
What would change this policy
A future version may add iCloud sync for your tracker, so your prayer log follows you across devices. If that ships, we will explain exactly what syncs — only your own local data, encrypted by Apple — and you will get to opt in. We will not add anything that changes the "we collect nothing" posture without telling you first.
